So from what little research I have done (mostly just browsing photos online), Vancouver ultimately reminds me of two of my most favorite places: New York City & Burlington, VT. Big city, bright lights, with lots of waterfront (well i mean Vancouver is basically a peninsula anwyays..) and a beautiful mountain chain to set a nice backdrop. You can’t really see them in the above picture, but they’re there. Trust me. It’s breathtaking. Really. Every time I stumble upon a new picture from a different angle, I can’t breathe for a moment. And I catch myself for a minute and ask myself if such a perfect combination of my two favorite places can really exist.
I’m genuinely excited. And scared. Mostly scared because I know I’m not going to want to leave. Like .. is this really happening/! Wut. I think my closest friends realize it too. They know one of these times I’m probably not going to come back. And as much as it upsets them, I think they’re genuinely happy as well. Amsterdam gets worse and worse each time we come back to it. Sure, we have new businesses, but honestly I think it’s a bit too late to really save or help this city. And we all know, there are bigger and better things out there for us. You don’t want to be stuck here for the rest of your life.
And honestly, I wouldn’t mind looking at this for the rest of mine (Click on it. I dare you.) :
